UK Government Increases Funding For Jewish Facility Protection

New legislation in the United Kingdom will decriminalize begging and introduce targeted regulations to combat organized begging for profit. Funding for support services has increased by £233 million this year, bringing total investment toward nearly £1 billion by 2026. The measures aim to address criminal groups that exploit vulnerable individuals. This represents a 15% increase from previous plans. The tournament is expanding for the first time to include 48 participating teams across 104 matches. The funding is intended to support the preparation of the participating teams. The 2026 World Cup will feature 48 teams and 100 matches running from June 11 to July 19 in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The UK government has released additional funds to protect Jewish and Israeli facilities following recent incidents in London. Terrorism expert Peter Neumann suggested the attacks may follow an Iranian strategy. On Wednesday, two Jewish men were stabbed in the Golders Green district of London. Police have arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with the stabbing. The current threat level is at stage four of five.
