US Pauses Military Action Authorization
Authorities currently do not require Congressional authorization for military operations, according to the report. Brown assessed that Iran's attacks on commercial vessels and two cargo ships since the ceasefire began on April 7th were not sufficient to end the truce. He made these remarks during a joint press conference with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon. President Trump suggested that it might be time for South Korea to join the effort to open the Strait of Hormuz, noting Iran's attacks on vessels from unrelated countries in relation to the maritime security project. The South Korean presidential office is reportedly facing difficult decisions regarding troop deployment amid an unstable ceasefire or non-belligerent situation.
