Spanish Politician Denies Illegal Funding Claims
Former Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy has issued a denial regarding allegations that he destroyed evidence related to the People's Party (PP) 'B-box' illegal financing scandal. The statement comes as investigations into the party's historical financial misconduct continue to resurface. This development adds tension to ongoing legal scrutiny of Spain's political financing structures. Politician Caldo García testified regarding large sums of cash, claiming the money was legal and consisted of expense reimbursements from the PSOE and currency exchanges for civil guards. García denied receiving 500-euro notes, despite allegations from Víctor de Aldama. The PSOE released a 2024 certificate stating 500-euro notes were not in circulation to dispute the claims. The next accused is scheduled to testify on Monday.
