Met Commissioner Requests Funding For 300 Officers
The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police expressed concern regarding the sustainability of current security approaches for Jewish communities. The Commissioner described the situation as a threat to community sustainability. A knife attack injured two men on Wednesday in northwest London, following an arson attack on Jewish charity ambulances in late March. The Commissioner noted that local extra patrols have been implemented to support the Jewish community. He described the current threat level as severe and urged the public to remain alert and provide information to authorities. The Commissioner also discussed the effectiveness of the PREVENT program in diverting individuals from extremism. The Commissioner urged everyone to come together to fight antisemitism in Britain.
