UN Extends South Sudan Peacekeeping Mission For One Year
The United Nations Security Council decided in New York to extend the UNMISS peacekeeping mission in South Sudan by one year. The mission will operate with 12,500 soldiers and 2,100 police officers. This represents a reduction from the previous force of 17,000 soldiers and 2,100 police officers.
