Workers' Party Executive Committee Discusses Disciplinary Report

The Workers' Party has issued a formal letter of reprimand to Secretary General Pritam Singh. The action follows an internal disciplinary process regarding Singh's court conviction in December last year. The reprimand stems from a court conviction involving Mr. The panel found a contravention of two articles of the party constitution based on the court findings. However, the committee determined that Singh did not intend to act contrary to the party's principles, aims, or objects. His actions were described as judgment calls made at the material time. The committee noted that Singh had recused himself from the meeting. The Workers' Party central executive committee met on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss a disciplinary panel's report. Party Chair Sylvia Lim and Vice Chair Faizal Manap recused themselves from the meeting.
