Spain Condemns Israeli Navy Seizure Of Flotilla
Israel expresses concern that the current security situation may evolve into a new permanent equation governing both southern and northern Israel. The Israeli Foreign Ministry reported that approximately 170 activists were arrested during the interception of the 50-boat flotilla in international waters off Crete. The Israeli Navy intercepted 2011 activists from the Global Sumoud flotilla off the coast of Crete. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in contact with Global Summit Flotilla coordinators and is working to provide assistance to Polish citizens involved. The Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has handed a case to the consulate regarding detainees following the seizure of approximately 11 boats near the Israeli coast. Dora Lemos is identified as one of the detainees, though her husband is reportedly traveling to Israel.
