Mother Requests Revocation Of Euthanasia Law
People's Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo has stated he will repeal the euthanasia law if he reaches the presidency. The announcement follows a personal account from a mother who claimed she was unable to make end-of-life decisions for her daughter. A guarantee committee currently holds the authority to make such decisions. The mother described feeling excluded from the decision-making process regarding her child. The mother of Noelia Castillo, who died in late March at age 25, is calling for the revocation of the euthanasia law. Yolanda, the mother, claims her daughter did not have a terminal illness. She further alleges that Noelia did not receive the necessary medical and psychological support required by the system. The mother argues that the application of the law in this case was improper.
