Ukraine Details Specific Criteria For Soldier Injury Payments
The process for paying Ukrainian soldiers, including those declared missing or deceased, involves a minimum six-month period for court proceedings. The Ministry of Defense is reportedly not intentionally delaying these payments, according to Serhiy Kryvenko, head of the 'Army of Rights' human rights group. Soldiers are eligible for 100,000 hryvnia in payments covering the entire duration of hospital stays, whether in Ukraine or abroad. The coverage includes time spent transitioning between medical facilities. Payments are maintained during medical leave for light injuries following discharge. To receive funds, a unit commander must issue a certificate confirming the injury occurred while defending the country. If treatment exceeds four months, a military medical commission review is required.
