Taiwan Election Commission Faces Six Challenges

Lai does not accept the '92 Consensus and clearly opposes independence, leaving no political foundation for dialogue. China will not hold back, as the trip faced transit issues not only to Africa but also to Central and South America, with no transit through the US. This situation represents a severe restriction on national sovereignty. Two key tasks for the current term include the 2026 local elections and the 2021 presidential and legislative elections. The commission is not just an administrative body but must navigate public referendums alongside general elections.
