Medvedev Calls Western Policy Existential Threat To Russia
Dmitry Medvedev stated that the conflict between Russia and the West is existential in nature. He noted that most Russians are waiting for victory and the conclusion of the military campaign. Medvedev compared the current global situation to the period preceding World War I and stated that geopolitical deals will not resolve conflicts. Speaking at the 'Knowledge First' marathon, Medvedev claimed that Europeans desire Russia's death. He further noted that Europe is undergoing militarization similar to the period before World War II. Medvedev observed that following the collapse of the Soviet Union, most Russians looked toward relations with the West. He criticized US and Israeli aggression against Iran. Medvedev noted that geopolitical developments have dispelled previous Russian illusions regarding a warm relationship with the West.
