Refugees Stay Longer In Hamburg Center

The Hamburg Senate informed the Left Party faction that individuals facing deportation are staying at the Dublin Center in Hamburg-Rahl for up to three months. Senator Susanne Röse originally stated when establishing the center a year ago that stays would last between two and four weeks. Current measures have proven insufficient to manage the health system long-term. As of mid-April, 67 people were living in the deportation facility, including three individuals staying over six months and 37 staying over four months. Refugees in the Dublin Center receive a bed, meals, hygiene items, and emergency medical care. Karola Enzlent of the Left Party criticized the situation. Financial assistance for bus tickets or mobile phone credit is only provided in exceptional cases. This exceeds the original two-to-four-week timeframe presented by the Senator when the facility was introduced a year ago. Asylum seekers in a Hamburg center are being housed longer than originally planned. According to the Federal Employment Agency, 67 people have been living in the facility as of April. Refugees in the Hamburg-Ralstedt Dublin center are staying for more than four months, according to information provided by the Senate to the Linke parliamentary group. The center is intended to house individuals required to leave the country for short periods before deportation.
