Minister Warns Of Intolerable Antisemitism In UK
A watchdog has warned that antisemitism in the United Kingdom is the largest national emergency since the COVID-19 pandemic. UK authorities are addressing an antisemitism emergency following a police investigation into a double stabbing. This follows a double stabbing incident in Golders Green. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood told LBC that the country has not yet reached the point of declaring a national emergency, noting that such a declaration would involve suspending elements of democracy. Anti-terror legislation watchdog Jonathan Hall described antisemitism as the greatest security threat in the United Kingdom in nearly a decade. Hall stated the issue represents a national security emergency not seen since 2017. He suggested authorities should have been more proactive in allocating funds before communities were attacked. The comments were made during a discussion on Times Radio Drive.
