SEPTA Fare Evasion Decreases 10 Percent

Philadelphia transit agency SEPTA reports a 10 percent decrease in fare evasion. Transit police officers are currently deployed to address low-level crimes including smoking, drug use, and loitering. New nearly full-length fare gates have been installed at 10 stations. The agency plans to install these gates at 13 additional stations. Increased citations are being issued for turnstile jumping.
