Maryland Halts Work With Keywood Construction Company

WTOP Washington DC Baltimore 44d42d Impact 5
Maryland state officials have decided to terminate their contract with Keywood Infrastructure regarding a rebuild effort in Baltimore. The decision reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over pricing. Keywood Infrastructure will remain on the project through at least the end of the year to fulfill existing agreements. The company is currently responsible for demolishing existing structures, though the bridge design is considered complete. The firm is currently performing phase one of a project involving the foundation for a new bridge. The governor's office and the Maryland transportation secretary stated they could not reach an agreement with the international contractor. Keywood Construction Company previously completed the Fort McHenry tunnel in Baltimore in 1980.
