Major Road Construction Slated For South Lyon
The Road Commission for Oakland County suggested infrastructure improvements in South Lyon funded by an alleged $20 million grant. The project aims to strengthen local infrastructure, improve accessibility, and support long-term economic vitality. Northbound traffic on Pontiac Trail may face detours via 9 Mile, Griswold, 10 Mile, and Martindale. The project is described as a meaningful investment in the city's future. The work will take place on Pontiac Trail between 9 Mile and the downtown railroad tracks. Northbound Pontiac Trail will be completely closed during the project, while southbound lanes will face occasional closures. On-street parking will be unavailable during the construction period. South Lyon leaders stated that local small businesses will remain open throughout the process.
