A magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred 65 km north of Namuac, Philippines. The earthquake had a depth of 35 km. Separately, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake was detected near Puerto Rico. This event is similar to a previously reported earthquake in the Philippines. A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck the Philippines, with seismic activity recorded in the Mindanao region. The interior minister addressed security concerns following the event. Cybersecurity summits have also been held in the country. Another magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck 41 km east-northeast of Turmi, Ethiopia, at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter was located in the South China Sea, approximately 500 miles from the Philippine capital. The quake's location was noted as being in the middle of the South China Sea.
