Former Brown Student Linked To Campus Shootings
Three Brown University students filed complaints in Rhode Island Superior Court last week. The lawsuit alleges the university was negligent regarding campus security following a deadly shooting in December. The plaintiffs claim the institution failed to take sufficient measures to ensure campus safety. The FBI and DOJ executed search warrants regarding a possible motive for the Brown University shooter. Former student Claudio Neves-Valente killed two students and wounded nine others in December. Neves-Valente also murdered an MIT professor in Brookline, Massachusetts, two days later. The suspect was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Salem, New Hampshire, storage unit. Detectives stated the attacks do not appear to have been random.
