Evanston Fire Chief Paul Pollock Retiring
Evanston Fire Chief Paul Pollock is retiring after nearly 30 years of service with the department. Pollock began his career as a firefighter paramedic in September 1996. He held several roles including captain, division chief, and deputy chief before being promoted to fire chief in April 2021. He is credited with implementing a third community ambulance to improve response times. Paul Pollock's last day in office has arrived following his retirement. The community noted that the addition of a third ambulance during his tenure improved response times. The station noted that the department will soon have a new leader.
