Copper Theft Destroys Seattle Theater HVAC System

Seattle's Taproot Theater is seeking $400,000 to replace its HVAC system following a theft of copper components. Artistic director Cameron Lund stated the theft threatens summer performances and children's classes during the theater's 50th season. Copper thieves targeted the Taproot Theater in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle during a performance. Staff members reported the theater became unusually hot before discovering the theft.
