Carver High School Program Targets Youth Violence
Senior Jaden Goss Hughes reports that peer meetings are helping students cope with recent school violence. Three students died at Carver High School between July and October. Three other students were shot during that period, including a basketball player who returned to school with a colostomy bag. Teenagers accounted for 25% of the city's homicide victims last year. The program aims to provide emotional support through guided breathing and visualization exercises.
