Brown University Shooter Killed MIT Professor
The FBI announced that Claudio Neves-Valente acted alone in the deadly shooting at Brown University and a subsequent killing in Brookline last year. The federal agency stated that Neves-Valente's actions were not connected to terrorism. Investigators found that the shooter planned the attacks over several years. Valente killed two students at Brown University last December and an MIT professor in Brookline days later. The shooter died by suicide in New Hampshire shortly after the killings. The agency cited personal grievance as a driving factor for the attacks.
