Bannewitz Municipality To Donate Gold Bars To Local Clubs
The Bannewitz municipal council near Dresden voted unanimously to distribute ten small gold bars to local organizations. The recipients include 30 local clubs such as the fire department, youth clubs, and carnival music and dance associations. Mayor Heiko Werzig confirmed the decision following the discovery of a treasure. The ten fine-ounce gold bars were reportedly found by a municipal employee in October. The Bannewitz municipality is permitted to keep ten fine gold ounces discovered by a municipal employee during excavation work in October.
