Polish President To Appoint Military Commanders

Investigators are conducting a preliminary proceeding regarding the public insult of the leadership of the military counterintelligence service in Warsaw. The Polish Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kośniak, announced that a list of military personnel for promotion has been submitted for presidential approval. The President is expected to present general nominations on May 2. The move is intended to fill necessary command obligations within the military. The head of MON noted that while some officers are currently colonels, they are slated for general ranks. The proposed appointments are subject to the individuals being formally notified first. Polish military officials are expected to be appointed to general positions through a new decree. Affected personnel must be notified before the appointments proceed.
