Woman Arrested For Smuggling Turtles In Bangkok
Security officers at a Bangkok airport discovered 30 Indian Star tortoises being smuggled by a young woman. The tortoises were attached to her body using cloth pouches. One tortoise was reported dead following the incident, according to the Bangkok Post. Police at Bangkok airport in Thailand arrested a 19-year-old woman for attempting to smuggle 30 turtles. The woman had taped the turtles to her body to transport them. She allegedly intended to sell the animals in Taiwan. Customs officials at Bangkok airport intercepted a woman attempting to smuggle 30 protected turtles concealed within her clothing.
