Teenager Sent To Psychiatric Care After Fatal Train Incident
A regional court in Göttingen ruled that a 31-year-old Iraqi man must be committed to a psychiatric hospital. The man pushed a girl in front of a train at the Friedland station in Lower Saxony. The court followed the recommendation of the public prosecutor's office. A man must be placed in a psychiatric facility following an incident in Friedland where he pushed a 16-year-old girl in front of a train, resulting in her death. The Göttingen District Court issued the order for his placement. In the summer of 2025, the teenager pushed a one-year-old from Heiligenstadt in front of a passing freight train at Friedland station. The child died immediately from the impact. The teenager had fled from Ukraine to Germany with her family in 2022.
