Mount Munku-Sordyk Climbing Ban Extended In Buryatia

Komsomolskaya Pravda Ulan-Ude 13d13d Impact 3
Regional head Alexei Tsidionov announced an extension of the ban on climbing Mount Monkusardy in Buryatia. The Akinsky district remains under a state of emergency with 24-hour patrols established to prevent tourists from entering the zone. The decision follows an incident on April 21 where two women and one man from a Krasnoyarsk group died during a descent. Authorities have also detained a travel agency director, a deputy, and a guide in connection with a criminal case. The region also maintains an emergency regime in the Akin District with 24-hour duty shifts active.
