Kimwolf Botnet Operator Arrested in US and Canada
A suspect identified as 'Dort', alleged to be the botmaster behind the Kimwolf botnet, has been arrested. Charges have been filed against Dort in both the United States and Canada. The operation targeted the botnet's infrastructure. The individual was involved in DDoS-for-hire attacks. This arrest is part of a joint operation between US and Canadian authorities. Jacob Butler, a 23-year-old from Ottawa, Canada, has been arrested and charged in both countries for allegedly operating the Kimwolf IoT botnet. The botnet is reported to have infected millions of devices, capable of generating botnet attacks up to 30Tbps.
