Italy Selects Airbus Tankers Over Boeing
Italy has agreed to purchase six Airbus A330 MRTT multi-role tanker transport aircraft. The deal is valued at €1.4 billion and signifies a shift towards European equipment. Italy has finalized a €1.39 billion contract for six Airbus A330 MRTT aerial refueling tankers. This purchase follows the cancellation of a previous deal for Boeing KC-46A Pegasus aircraft. Italy has chosen Airbus A330 MRTT tankers, ending a 15-year reliance on American Boeing aircraft.
