Brazilian Mother Faces Seven Days Imprisonment In Egypt
A three-year-old Italian girl is currently detained in Egypt following a report by Elixir. The child's mother issued a appeal on social media expressing fear for her and the child's safety. Italian and Egyptian authorities are reportedly in contact regarding the case. The mother's appeal mentioned a potential six-month prison sentence. Brazilian woman Karen Raquel Aranha Toledo has been in detention for seven days in Egypt. Defense representatives stated she was detained for refusing to hand over her seven-year-old son, Adam. The child was reportedly taken to Egypt by his father without the mother's permission in 2022. Aranha Toledo has not seen her son since the incident.
