Vishnev Tunnel Closure Scheduled For D1 Highway
The district administration in Innsbruck has established a total closure for a highway due to a planned demonstration on May 30. The Mayor of Grieß requested the action to manage high traffic loads, according to the Austrian news agency APA. The closure is expected to impact the Pfundern area. The national road company will close the Vishnev tunnel on the D1 highway starting May 4. The seasonal service replacement is scheduled to continue until May 17. According to the general director, the maintenance is necessary for the preventive control of tunnel technologies and equipment. This work follows the completion of previous tunnel maintenance in late December.
