Gold Coins Stolen From Badajoz Museum
A group of thieves entered the Alcazaba during the early hours of Saturday to assault the Archaeological Museum of Badajoz. The thieves stole 149 gold coins known as the Villanueva Treasure, which date back to the reigns of Charles III, Charles IV, and Ferdinand VII. The Extremadura regional government defended the security of the Adrián García museum following the incident. No information regarding the suspects was provided.
