Yichun Authorities Investigate Illegal Luxury Cemeteries
Authorities in Yichun have identified 35 luxury cemeteries that violate construction regulations. The local Civil Affairs Bureau stated these sites are currently sealed and will be converted into columbariums. Each new columbarium is expected to provide between 60 and 90 niches. Although rectification notices were issued in December 2024, only one model unit has been completed to date.
