Bicycle Fatalities Double In Upper Palatinate

Police in the Upper Palatinate region of Germany are increasing safety inspections for cyclists and e-bike riders. Data shows eight people died in bicycle-related accidents in the region during 2025, seven of whom were not wearing helmets. This represents a doubling of fatalities compared to the previous year. Additionally, more than 1,300 cyclists and e-bike riders were injured in 2025.
