Novosibirsk Tramway Infrastructure Works Expected To Finish In September
A new tramway infrastructure project in Novosibirsk will feature tracks running parallel to and above roadways. Trams are currently restricted to speeds of 20 kilometers per hour for approximately one month while technical adjustments are finalized. Specialists stated that full speed operations will resume shortly. The new construction is expected to simplify vehicle transit through the square within one week. Specialists stated that these speed limitations are temporary and will be lifted soon. The new route construction remains stable despite the current restrictions. Traffic flow for motorists through the square has improved, with further ease expected within one week. The project includes laying asphalt and creating new bus stops to enable one-way bus traffic on the overpass. This follows trends in other cities where tram systems have been removed.
