Royal Caribbean To Acquire Two Cruise Ships From Turku Shipyard
Royal Caribbean has confirmed orders for two additional Icon-class vessels to be built at the Turku shipyard. These represent the sixth and seventh ships of the Icon class. The order was confirmed via Finnish media. Pena Urrila, chief economist of the Confederation of Finnish Industries, stated the acquisition has importance for the domestic maritime industry. The move is expected to benefit the entire local maritime subcontracting chain and support domestic employment.
