Caregivers Report High Stress and Workload Challenges
Approximately 80% of elderly care is currently performed within families. State support is described as insufficient and inconsistent across different regions. Caregivers face difficulties accessing information on how to obtain guaranteed assistance. Three-quarters of surveyed caregivers report experiencing high or very high stress levels. Respondents identified the primary challenge as the constant pressure to meet dual responsibilities. Some caregivers are seeking more favorable employment with higher earnings or better benefits to improve caregiving capabilities. Respondents indicated that they often do not prioritize their own health due to time constraints. Physical exhaustion and mental health concerns are risks for this group. There is a potential for future shortages in care and support services if these conditions persist.
