Expelled Portuguese Security Members Face Condemnations For Embezzlement, Violence, Fraud, Physical Assault
Luís Neves, the Minister of Internal Administration, has expelled 44 members of Portugal's Security Forces since taking office three months ago. This total includes 30 from the GNR and 14 from the PSP. A Ministry note sent to the Lusa agency stated that the expulsions or suspensions were due to convictions for crimes such as embezzlement, domestic violence, fraud, and physical assault. Convictions for expelled Portuguese security members now include physical assault, in addition to embezzlement, domestic violence, and fraud.
