German Medical Committee Questions Alzheimer Drug Coverage
The enforcement and control of the nitrous oxide ban in Berlin are being examined. The ban is expected to be significantly higher in its impact. The Federal Joint Committee of doctors, health insurance funds, and clinics has decided that new Alzheimer's drugs offer no additional benefit. This decision puts the coverage of treatment costs by health insurance providers in question. The new antibodies are designed to target and clear amyloid proteins in the brain responsible for Alzheimer's disease. The decision follows observations regarding the drugs' impact on brain matter over an 18-month period.
