Forensic Genealogy Used in Cold Case Investigation
The Marshall Service utilized forensic genealogy for the first time in its history to investigate Robert Ivan Nichols. Nichols was severely injured in World War II as the sole survivor of a torpedoed boat, suffering from PTSD and trauma. He was married with four sons but left abruptly, leaving a mystery for his family.
