Russia Sees 7% Drop In Road Accident Injuries

Business FM Russia Russia 4d4d Impact 5
Nearly 14,000 people died in road traffic accidents in Russia last year, with the highest numbers recorded in Tuva, Altai, and Oryol Oblast. A new road safety strategy aims to reduce this figure to 9,000 by 2030. Dmitry Popov, an expert from the working group on road safety legislation, provided commentary. Approximately 39,000 people sustained injuries in serious road accidents across Russia, marking a nearly 7% reduction from the previous year. Experts link this positive trend to improved road safety standards, higher fines for traffic violations, and the deployment of photo and video recording cameras. Additionally, the increasing presence of modern vehicles equipped with emergency braking and lane-keeping systems on roads played a role.
