Heavy Traffic Reported at Singapore Land Checkpoints
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) expects heavy traffic at Singapore's land checkpoints during the upcoming Labor Day Long Weekend. Travellers are advised to plan ahead from this Thursday to Sunday to avoid peak periods. During the previous long weekend, more than 1.4 million people crossed the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints. The ICA is issuing these warnings to manage the expected surge in movement. Motorists in cars experienced wait times of up to three hours for immigration clearance due to tailbacks from Malaysia. Security checks have been increased in response to the global security situation. Authorities are urging travelers to use QR codes for faster clearance and to avoid queue cutting.
