Yacht Rescue Attempt Ends In Death
A yacht in trouble near South Ballina Bar prompted a marine rescue response where the rescue vessel rolled in rough conditions. Paramedics treated one man winched from a helicopter for chest injuries, while three other patients were taken to shore and then to hospital for observation. Police confirmed three people died in the emergency, but it is not yet known if they were on the rescue vessel.
