Li Xiaobao Honored For Precision Engineering

Bridge technical innovation engineer Zhang Shenglin has received multiple awards including the Zhan Tianyou Award, Luban Prize, and Gustav Lindenthal Award. She holds two national-level honors and six invention patents, and was named a National Labor Model in 2020. Shenglin has contributed to projects like the Guizhou Jiangjiehe Bridge and the Hong Kong Xinguang Bridge. Zhang has contributed to projects such as the Guizhou Jiangjiehe Bridge, Guangzhou Xinguang Bridge, and Chongqing Jiangjingguan Yingyan Yangtze River Bridge. He is noted as one of the few women in the male-dominated field of bridge construction. He was also recognized as a National Model Worker in 2020. His work has been in overcoming the challenging karst topography of Guizhou province. His work includes major projects such as the Pingtang Bridge and the Wumengshan Bridge in Guizhou. Building in Guizhou's uneven karst terrain presented challenges for transportation construction. Zhang Shenglin has participated in the construction of projects including the Jiangkaihe Bridge, Xinguang Bridge, Jiangjinkuan Yingyan Yangtze River Bridge, Xiaojing Bridge, Pingtang Bridge, Wumengshan Bridge, Zangkejiang Bridge, and Huajiang Gorge Bridge. Zhang is the only person in China working on bridges without plain terrain support, facing challenges in Guizhou's karst landscape. Li Xiaobao, a recipient of the 2025 National Craftsman award, developed a core drive component for a machine using a high-strength stainless steel material previously unused in aviation.
