Vessel Departs Ushuaia, Heads Towards Cape Verde
The vessel Honduras has been anchored off the coast of Praia, Cape Verde, since Monday morning. The World Health Organization representative in Cape Verde stated the situation on board is currently controlled. The National Director of Health of Cape Verde, Ângela Gomes, was heard by Renascença. A Dutch-flagged vessel is currently awaiting medical attention in Cape Verde. The Spanish Ministry of Health stated that the reasonable course of action is to provide care where the ship is located. The ministry suggested the vessel could be attended to via aircraft or by transporting the ship to the Netherlands. Officials noted there is no immediate danger to the Spanish population regarding the situation. Passengers on a ship traveling from Argentina to the Cape Verde Islands experienced an situation, requiring medical and psychological care.
