Lift Technician Dies In Stanley Fatal Accident
The Labour Department is investigating the death of a 26-year-old lift technician in Stanley. Police were called to Taitam Road yesterday afternoon after the worker was found trapped inside a lift shaft. The technician suffered serious head injuries and was later pronounced dead. The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims is monitoring the case. The worker died while performing repair work at a housing estate on Taitam Road. The specific cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Police stated the victim may have fallen from a height of approximately 10 metres while trapped inside a lift shaft.
