A 2.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10:38 local time with a depth of 2.1 kilometers. The USGS reports the epicenter was located approximately 15 miles from Detroit in Ontario, Canada. Residents in southeast Michigan, the Downriver area, and as far south as Toledo, Ohio, reported feeling the tremor. No damage or injuries were immediately reported from the seismic event.
