Graffiti Found On Amsterdam National Monument
Police are searching for three suspects after a monument on Dam Square was defaced with red paint overnight. The word "genocide" was written on the monument. The action was claimed by activists from Palestine Action Amsterdam. The group stated it is hypocritical to commemorate victims of World War II while no attention is given to the ongoing genocide. A national commemoration of the dead was scheduled for 8 PM on Dam Square. A Palestinian activist group sent footage of graffiti on the National Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam to the newspaper Parool. The graffiti included the word 'genocide', which was likely a reference to the war in Gaza. All paint has since been removed from the monument. It is currently unknown if the group sent the footage is responsible for the act.
