Repeat Sexual Offender Released Near Victim In France

Reports of sexual assaults in extracurricular settings are increasing across France. Approximately 500 young victims have been identified at this stage. Victims have expressed feelings of helplessness, according to the report. Authorities reported a rise in sexual harassment and assault cases involving school children in Paris. At Titon school in the 11th arrondissement, parents filed complaints after children reported forced hugging, inappropriate nicknames, and touching. One presenter faces up to 10 years in prison and a 150,000 euro fine. In the last four months, 78 out of 14,000 Parisian presenters have been suspended, with 31 facing suspicion of sexual violence. A repeat sexual offender is being released after eight years in France and is set to reside in the same city as the victim, Karine. The victim's family expressed extreme anger, calling the situation an "absolute injustice." This outcome is attributed to the French justice system's principle that sentences do not add up.
