Firefighters Injured In New York Building Collapse
At least three firefighters fell when a floor collapsed during a fire on the westbound Bruckner Expressway near Hunts Point Avenue. One firefighter sustained serious burns during the incident. The injured firefighters were transported to a local hospital and are expected to survive. Firefighters brought the blaze under control at approximately 5 p.m. At least three firefighters fell during a four-alarm fire that broke out just before 3 p.m. One firefighter sustained serious injuries, according to FDNY Fire Chief John Esposito.
